This place came highly recommended by a friend of our who happened to see the sign on the road and decided to take a break from his journey and check it out. He fell in love with the place and immediately booked it for his wedding that was coming up. I have to say when we saw the wedding pictures we also loved how the place looked like and kept saying we should plan a trip to visit.
Kigio Wildlife Conservancy is about an hour and a halfs drive from Nairobi, just past Naivasha Town and right before the old Gilgil toll station. It’s about 5km to Malewa Wildlife Lodge from the highway and the road is not too bad so almost any car can make it there, you don’t necessarily need a 4×4/SUV. Once you get there you quickly forget the traffic you left behind and enter safari mode.
They offer a variety of activities including night game drives which I thought was interesting although we didn’t get to try it out. Here are a few pics of the lodge and some birds 🙂
